America is Upside Down: How We Got Here
Everywhere we look, up is down, right is left, fast is slow, correct is wrong, criminal is saint, boy is girl. I remember in grade school, we’d play “Opposite Day” and everything we’d say to each other meant the other. I remember seeing Mary Beth (the most beautiful girl I had ever seen at the age of 8) and I said, “You’re UGLY!” …and she said, “You’re FAT!” (I was about 70lbs at the time). Neither statement was true, but it was part of the silly childhood game we played.
After the past 6 years, I feel like we back at that exact same playground.
Everything is upside down.
There are now 54 ‘genders’ and it is a construct of the ‘patriarchy.’ If a man and identifies as a woman, he can apparently now have menstrual cycles and give birth - even though he has neither a vagina, nor a womb.
If you want to identify as a ‘cat,’ you can now shit in a box and lick your arms while purring and this is totally normal. I have even heard of a school in Minnesota that has now installed a litterbox in the bathrooms to accommodate this lunacy.
We have a 4-star General and current assistant Secretary of Health named Rachel Levine - who has a penis. Leia Thomas is the Penn State University women’s national champion in swimming … and has a penis. ‘She’ has been nominated by USA Today as the “Woman of the Year.” Who would have thought that men are better at being women than women are?!
Our public school system is grooming our kids by having drag queens read them stories at the library to normalize this kind of thing. Every imaginable measure of weird is now completely acceptable. The social media platform, Reddit, has now declared that ‘groomer’ is ‘hate speech’ and won’t allow it on their site. Apparently, sexually grooming children is an important agenda for Reddit…
Why Is This Happening?
I think this is a three-pronged attack that was strategically manufactured by the democrat party in America. First, democrats REQUIRE division and have worked hard to manufacture as many disparate groups of ‘victims’ as possible to build a coalition of the ‘disenfranchised.’ We now have a ‘Victim Olympics’ where it’s not good enough to just be ‘weird,’ (or gay or a poet or an actor) but rather a 31-year-old man must ‘identify’ as a 4-year-old, female, transgender cockatiel with the pronouns Caw/Caw.
There is a hierarchy in the Victim Olympics and the hilarious thing is that a gay, white male is at the bottom just underneath the white woman (who still gets to pretend they are ‘oppressed’ because of their gender, so to accomplish this, they dye their hair blue, purple, or pink and have a bone through their nose with ear stretchers to distance themselves. This way, they get to be part of their own group that white men have oppressed…).
To be clear, straight white men are the oppressors of world history. We have clearly destroyed not only women, but the planet! 1000% of all slaves were Africans stolen from continental Africa, then crushed in America. That is how we ended up with 38 million black people here now…
And we are to accept it or else we are BIGOTS or RACIST or …Republicans! (GASP!)
The second democrat strategy is to manufacture instability in the nuclear family. This became way more obvious in the 1960s when democrats implemented “The War on Poverty” which was really just an overt way break up black homes and get black mothers to ‘marry the government’ in return for votes and cash. Meanwhile, Marxists have long targeted the education system where they can manipulate the young, soft, mushy minds of our children who crave acceptance from both teachers and peers. No one wants to be isolated from the herd, especially when their hormones are going wild and playing tricks on them. So, while the ‘cool’ teacher they have for 8 hours per day is filling their head with nonsense and destabilizing all the social norms the parents have brought them up with, the kids are not sophisticated or strong enough to fight back.
This was made possible by the second democrat strategic plan to ‘kill God’ and eliminate every reference to faith in Him within the public sphere. Democrats ended prayer in school, the 10 Commandments in our local court rooms, celebrate atheism as ‘intellectualism,’ and mock Christians relentlessly in culture. Democrats have manufactured a nation where ‘God is dead’ and have used peer pressure and indoctrination to make sure He is not in the minds of our kids.
I/R Theory
In I/R Theory, the two concepts are that we all have an “Identity” and various “Roles.” Roles are ‘what we do,’ while our Identity is ‘who we are stripped of all our roles.’
As a 53-year-old married, father, my roles include the following:
Christian
Husband
Father
Business Owner
Son
Brother
Uncle
Cousin
Nephew
Boss
Friend
Neighbor
Coach
Confidant
Board Member
Investor
Mentor
Church Member
…the list can go on forever.
When we look at any given role, then grade ourselves on a 1-10 scale (10 being high), you can imagine that the self-score can wildly change within a given month, week, day, or even single conversation! I’ve got two 18-year-old and believe me, while I may feel like a 10 as a father one day, having a disagreement with one of them can wear that score down to a 3 a matter of minutes!
When considering our “Identity,” we also self-score on a scale of 1-10. But our Identity is defined as ‘who we are, stripped of all those roles,’ so we must be careful in how we anchor it. A healthy, balanced life requires that we withstand the daily ups and downs that come at us. If we tie who we are closely to what we do, disaster will often strike.
Think of Hall of Fame NFL quarterback, Brett Favre. He spent 20 years in the league, but the first 16 of them were with the Green Bay Packers. I know this intimately because he mauled the feckless Chicago Bears for most of his career and so I got to watch him at least twice per year. He announced his retirement to much fanfare and shortly thereafter resurfaced as the quarterback of the New York Jets. After a couple seasons there, he retired a second time only to come out of retirement a second time to play for the Minnesota Vikings.
Upon further review, Brett Favre had his Identity (who he is) tied to his role as an NFL quarterback.
We also see the challenges of having Identity tied to Role with the ‘empty nesters’ who struggle mightily after their last child goes off to college and finally leaves home. Oftentimes, a parent who invested 18 years of their life completely devoted to their kid is by themselves…and they struggle without the validation of their role as a parent, hence negatively impacting their identity.
The solution is to work hard to keep your Identity and Role very separate from each other. The technique is to anchor your Identity into something that is stable and doesn’t move, which will help you weather the various storms we go through in our many roles.
I have anchored my Identity in the belief that I am a child of God. My faith in Him knows that He loves me eternally and completely, regardless of my failures (or successes) in the roles I assume. So when my 18-year-old is madder than a hornet at me because of a conflict about the use of my car, the score I may give myself as a Father may be a 3, but my Identity remains a bulletproof 9 or 10. Having an Identity score of 10 doesn’t imply that I am a conceited jerk, but rather that I am safe in who I am regardless of the noise in the world around me.
It's amazing what one can accomplish with a strong Identity. For example, because I can accept new ideas, beliefs and thoughts (as they don’t improve or degrade my Identity), I can take immense risks in learning new things. Nothing scares me because while I may adopt an idea that later turns out to be wildly wrong, it doesn’t take away the fact that I am still loved eternally by a God that won’t reject me.
Having a strong Identity that opens new opportunities for me every day. In the end, real growth occurs as we evolve and deepen our knowledge. I can afford to take those risks knowing I’ve got my soul anchored in the right way with something that doesn’t move.
If you don’t have a relationship with God, find something else that doesn’t move and anchor your Identity to that. I’ve seen people anchor to concepts like being genuine, honest, authentic or living a life of integrity. Anchored Identities allow you to constantly measure your life and strive to embody the principles attached to the concept while also insulating them from the emotional chaos that inevitably occurs in life.
The strategic plan of the democrat party to ‘Kill God’ has created a void in the hearts and souls of our children. It all sounded so benign at the time, but because we stopped taking our kids to Church and surrendered them to the secular public education system, the Marxists accomplished their goal. The result is that too many of our young people have de-coupled their Identity as a stable as a child of Christ and have re-anchored their Identity to ‘how they feel.’
Think about how unstable and chaotic this must be.
The public education system has indoctrinated so many of our kids, so now the kids’ Identities are anchored in their ‘feelings.’ Young people are looking to establish themselves, be liked and loved by others and achieve social acceptance. They move like a herd and can be easily manipulated. Because their Identity is now based on ‘how they feel,’ when anyone challenges an idea or belief that they’ve acquired (via their lunatic teachers/professors), they take it as a direct STRIKE against WHO THEY ARE!!!
If you’ve been paying attention to the world today, you’ve heard some blue-haired Taliban member screeching at someone saying “WORDS ARE VIOLENCE!!!!” or “you’re not allowed to speak here because you represent HATE!!!!”
It’s pure lunacy because words and ideas are nothing more than just that - words or ideas.
I fully believe that any idea (even ones that I believe are mind-numbingly stupid) should be allowed to be shared and debated vigorously. It’s funny because the reality is that stupid ideas (or racist ones or bigoted ones or misogynistic ones or homophobic ones) tend to get flushed down the toilet quickly once we shine light on them. It is the most efficient way to diffuse them.
Too often we cannot even begin to have important conversations because we are talking to someone who’s Identity is tied to ‘how they feel’ and any challenge to their belief is an ‘assault.’ They are not ABLE to have an open dialogue without feeling bad or threatened, so they quickly disengage, then retreat back into the safe space where they are surrounded only by like-minded people that will make them feel better again.
Solution To The Mess
I’ve worked hard to engage with hundreds if not thousands of people who have different belief systems. I’m fascinated by the fact that democrats have manufactured this chaos and so many people simply ignore it. I’m honestly not surprised though. When you consider that high school kids are socially insecure, craving acceptance, abhor confrontation, and don’t have faith that there is anything beyond this mortal life, we cannot be stunned that they go to college and believe that the whole world is against them. It all makes total sense.
But I believe we can correct the wrong path we are on as a nation. It’s going to take a ton of work and the courage for us to stand bravely in the face of the democrat mob that embraces physical violence, intimidation, accusation and cancel-culture.
The solution is to educate ourselves to the hilt about the real (and messy) history of America. We need to understand the lunatic ideologies they have been indoctrinated with better than they do. We must be able to defeat them in the Arena of Ideas and equip them with facts. It is crucial that we demonstrate courage and NOT back down to the mob.
But that solution is only destined to work if we help our opponent re-attach their Identity to something that doesn’t move with the wind. We must present the concept of I/R Theory to them and help them find their way to stability. There MUST be a message of hope because they are drowning in hopelessness.
We can maul them with facts, but the root cause of the social chaos the democrats have manufactured for the past 100 years is that we have allowed them to destabilize the two-parent family, and we allowed them to marginalize, then eliminate faith in God. The results are glaring. We have the highest rates of suicide. We have more young people with therapists and counselors on speed-dial than ever before. We have 5x more young people with anxiety and who frequently experience panic attacks now than ever before.
For them, it really is total darkness out in the world. They are struggling to find meaning in their lives and the easiest place to go is to their peer groups who are designed to only make them feel good. The modern college campus is like a giant crack-house. No opposing ideas are allowed - only ‘positive vibes.’ When someone tries to step outside the campus bubble (or we try to go in), they slam the door and isolate themselves in the protective comfort of that bubble.
We cannot allow Opposite Day to be the norm in America any longer. It is time to vigorously fight back and regain the ground we lost when we abdicated being parents in the name of economic prosperity. The cost to America has been catastrophic. The good news is that there is a way out.
